Roller Gear Technology - How It Works!
It starts with a simple idea - Creating an internal compound gear by wrapping a double roller chain support disk. This allows us to make a compound with all the advantages of a Roller Gear drive system.
This evolved Roller Gear drive concept can now be converted to a Planetary Gear System by the addition of a driver and a planet. Three additional planets are added for symmetry in loading and for an increase in load capacity by 300%.
• Backlash as low as 10 minutes
• Broad range of ratios stocked and available - from 3:1 to 125:1
• Superior Shock Loading - acts like a spring!
• Provides a Self-Lubricating gear system
Major advantages of roller drive construction include self-lubrication and the ability to withstand shock loads. The final drive configuration is a superior gear drive system.
This construction provides three seperate layers:
A. Gear Tooth to Roller
B. Roller to slotted bushings
C. Bushing to shaft (lubricant contained in slot)
All components 'roll' together instead of sliding like standard gear systems.
Friction-free tooth/roller engagement. Efficiencies into the 90's.
